Production and application of water based flexo ink
Flexographic printing is a mainstream printing method in the future. Various advanced technologies used by flexographic printing manufacturers, such as UV (ultraviolet light) curing, EB (electron beam) curing and ink technology.
Flexographic printing refers to a printing method that uses a flexographic plate to transfer ink through an anilox roller.The layout structure of the printing plate is the same as that of the letterpress printing plate, in that the graphic part is higher than the non-graphic part. Moreover, the flexographic plate is also a direct printing method using rubber plates or photosensitive resin plates, and quick-drying liquid inks. It can be seen that flexographic printing is a branch of letterpress printing, but it is different from traditional letterpress printing in the composition of the printing plate and ink and the embossing process.
As far as the main components of flexographic inks are concerned, they are all composed of colorants (pigments or dyes), resins (linking materials), solvents and additives. Most of them are liquid inks that are mainly volatile and dry, but there are also a few inks that are dried in the form of oxidized conjunctiva and permeation drying. Since the flexographic printing machine uses anilox rollers to transfer the ink, the viscosity of the flexographic printing ink should not be too high, generally between 1 and 100 poise.
For ink manufacturers, flexo water-based ink is a profitable market. It is also a potential market worth developing. In the end consumer market, water based inks are mainly used for printing on paper, cartons, corrugated paper, household paper and pre-printing applications. In cardboard printing, more and more flexographic inks are used. In addition, the further development of water based flexo ink technology has greatly improved the solubility of water based flexo ink.
